WHO I AM

Since it is always nice to know who you are dealing with, here is a bit about me and how the merrymurder site came into existence. My name is Tim Morrell and I write the merrymurder games and books and I run the merrymurder website. I live in Nottingham, England, the historical home of Robin Hood. And yes, he has made it into one of my games - Murder in an Hour with Robin Hood!
I have been writing murder mystery products for over fifteen years. I started by writing the Party Games. The motivation behind this was dismay at the pathetic plots in some of the boxed murder mystery games. I felt I could do much better! And I also liked the idea of writing some games with "meatier" story lines. Which is why my party games range from family friendly to adult only! But don't worry - there is nothing in the latter games that should offend any broadminded adult!
I then added Murder Mystery Puzzle Books to the range. The inspiration here was to create a murder mystery challenge that an individual could attempt. I also liked the idea of theming them around events in the calendar when the books could be given as presents. Hence titles like "Monster Birthday Party" and "Who stole Santa's Sleigh?" That led on to a desire to make the books personalisable, so that if they were given to an individual, the giver could use their knowledge of the recipient to ensure that the book was full of pertinent detail and special surprises.
Recently I have started writing the "Murder in an Hour" range of games. These are impromptu murder mysteries that can be played in about an hour. At under 30 pages, they are quick (and economical) to print off. All the components can be made by simply folding the printed off pages. And the games have great flexibility with regard to player numbers - most can be played with between 4 and 12 players.
Many thanks for perusing my website. I hope it persuades you to make your next party a fun filled merrymurder! And if you have as much fun playing them as I have writing them, then you are guaranteed a riotous, rollicking night!
Best wishes.
