Hi Tim,
Sorry for the long silence. Its been a hectic Christmas and
New year. I have been meaning to touch base with you and first
of all thank you for your prompt and very informative response to my
original email; and secondly for writing such a wonderfully
delightful murder mystery that everyone at my party enjoyed.
My husband and I decided to go with
"The Pungent Pumpkin Poisoner"
despite the larger group of people, and it was a smashing
success.
My family loves detective stories and mysteries, both in print
and on TV. So they were both intrigued and excited about
attending the event. I picked one member from each family to
play one of the 7 roles and asked all the rest (the investigative
team) to dress as their favorite detective. We had Hercule
Poirot, Miss Jane Marple, Columbo, Sherlock Holmes and the teenage
girls dressed as Charles Angels! It was a riot!!!
My brother in law played Inspector Brown. My sister (who
played Mavis Cheek) correctly solved the mystery. It was most
hilarious to watch her (she is such a prude), struggle with her
lines as she had to go up to Lloyd and say "“Mmm, I wouldn’t mind a
taste of your salami!” She choked on the words several times
and said "My I just cant say this line" - and all of us just howled
in laughter! When she finally got the words out, it was even
more funny!!! Everyone totally got into the role of their
character and had a blast. Needless to say, for the rest of
the Christmas week, at every occasion we met, we were all called by
our new character names.
I got so many raving reviews about the event. My sister
called me after the party, to tell me that her husband, who usually
gets bored at our multiple family gatherings (this was the 4th night
in a row that we were all meeting), had such a grand time.
That for those 3 hours, he totally forgot about work and the
stresses of life and unwound and enjoyed himself He played
Inspector Brown to perfection.
This is an email I received from my uncle:
"Thanks
so much for the lovely dinner followed by a mind boggling, head
spinning, nose diving, heart pounding, brain picking - Sherlock
Holmes murder mystery. I just can't believe I was sitting next to
that killer all the time."
Needless to say, everyone wants to do it again. Thank you for the
flowcharts that we all stuck to closely once we got the hang of what
we were supposed to do. The instructions were very clear and the
color coding perfect. Please do keep me informed if you have
any sales or specials on your mysteries. I thought I read
something about it in one of the reviews. Also, please feel free to
use parts or all of my email in your feedback/review section or if
you'd like for me to write something in particular, I would be happy
to.
Thank you for making for a memorable night!

Hi Tim, happy new year!
We used the "The

Hi there!
I just wanted to thank you for your
"The Pungent Pumpkin Poisoner"
game.
I used it for my 23rd birthday party.
The enthusiasm which everyone put into the
storyline was brilliant. I had my friends and work colleagues
doing accents and facial expressions that I could never have
imagined coming from them. We all gasped and oohed and aahed
at new clues and confessions.
We really had a fabulous time playing your
game and everyone was raving about it for days afterwards. 2
hours flew by in hysterics for us!
I've already had 2 people from my group ask me
when our next Murder Mystery Party will be so I'll be trolling your
site for another one soon!

Hi Tim,
I
have played two mystery games before. One, twenty years ago, was a
boxed game, one regularly seen in Australia; I organised it at home.
The second time a restaurant organised a night using the same brand
of boxed game. I found your
"The Pungent Pumpkin Poisoner"
game much more enjoyable!
The instructions were clearer and people had a more even role to
play. I think most guests suspected themselves of committing
the murder. People certainly had strong opinions on who the
murderer was!
There were also a lot of clues. And the drama was heightened
when people hammed up their roles. I was taken by surprise
when mild-mannered people acted out their parts really well
and created some dramatic performances. All in all the evening
was a great success!

Dear Tim:
Just writing to tell you that last night, we played our fourth Merry
Murder game,
The Cutting It Killer, and we had a
blast! I was trying to decide on what my annual Halloween murder
mystery game would be this year, and I just couldn't find something
I liked. Normally we do a themed game with witches, ghosts, etc.
like your
10 Little Vampires game. After
tossing a few ideas around, I took another look at this game and
realized it had what I was looking for.
Without giving anything away, the plot involves a movie director
that used to make slash and gore horror movies, another guest with a
gory makeup effects background, the film premiere of a scary movie,
and a hypnotism scene that was priceless! I simply explained to my
guests that the movie premiere was set to release on Halloween, and
that the party originally was to be a celebratory "wrap" party for
the film, and thus the guests were to come in Halloween costumes.
Of course, with the murder, it turned out to be an investigation,
but with a Halloween theme.
It worked out great. As always, we never laughed so much. Round
Three was a blast, with two of my guests involved in a small chase
scene around the room. (Granted, I think the Sangria helped). We
are really enjoying your Merry Murder games and my guests keep
complimenting the rich plot details you add. It's also nice, at the
end of the night, as the solution is revealed, to hear "oh, yes
that's right," or "darn, that was staring me right in the face,"
type of comments, as your games come to a logical conclusion. And,
as always, the investigation panel is a host's dream. If last
minute guests beg to come, or as in my case, some fail to show up,
the panel becomes a lifesaver.
Actually, most of my panel couldn't make it, so I had one poor guest
play the entire panel. This actually was hysterical, as she asked
all the questions and played all the mystery witnesses. It got
laughs all around and still worked out great. Needless to say, she
didn't feel left out of the fun at all. These games are great ways
to spend an evening and we just have a ball. Thanks again for
creating such quality games. After the holiday rush dies down,
we'll be doing
The Easter Extravaganza this April!
We can't wait!
Dennis Pascale - South Plainfield, NJ, USA
P.S. Your yearly sales are a great value and now I'm happy to own
all of your games. Now the problem is always deciding which one to
do next. And as always, please feel free to use any of my comments.
I don't mind spreading the word.

Hi Tim
Thank you very much for the effort that you put into these murder
mysteries. I purchased five games last year. I have up
till now played the free game "The Pungent Pumpkin Poisoner",
"Randy
Butt - RIP" & "The
Murder of Mrs Whyte".
All of these were a sure hit with my friends and everyone is in
agreement that these are decent murder mysteries, not at all the
flaky thin story lines you buy in toy stores.
I am really happy with my purchases and I still have "Natural Porn Killers",
"The Wake of Humpty Dumpty"
and "The
Merrymurder Pantocrime"
to go!
Thought I'd just drop you a mail to say thank you once again.
Kind Regards

Just wanted to let you know that last night, I hosted my third
merrymurder game,
"Natural Porn Killers"!
As always, it was a huge success, my family and friends never
laughed so much! It was such a hit and so easy to set up.
Again, the game materials, especially the flow charts and easy
instructions, kept things running smoothly. I don't know where
you get your ideas from, but the theme intrigued all my guests and
the dialogue was hilarious. So much more fun and interesting than
the standard boxed games. The investigation panel also worked
out great. T hey were just as much part of the action, and they
enjoyed every minute of it. Your games, as I've said before,
are great with their details. It's a nice mix of discussing
facts and very funny dramatics. Our last round was a riot,
with two of the suspects locked in a verbal sparring match. I
think they went off on their own...the script got them going and
then they ad-libbed some great one-liners!
All in all, the evening was a huge success! I decorated the
gaming area in pirate themes and dinner was a buffet, making it
easier for me to host. I added a few "erotic treats" which my
guests enjoyed, with a few laughs as well. Some of my party
treats that I handed out included flavored condoms and flavored lube
- They loved it! Yes, it's one of your more adult parties, but
I had my mom and other close relatives in attendance and they all
enjoyed the game. As you state on your web site, it's nothing
that broad minded adults would find offensive. So again,
thanks for another fun-filled evening. Now my only problem is
trying to decide which of your games to host this summer. So
many great scenarios to choose from. Please feel free to use
my comments on your site. I've already spread the word about
your games to other people and they are jumping at the chance to
host a game. All the best to you.

Dear Tim,
We played your game 'The
Murder of Mrs Whyte' on New Year's Eve as planned and it
was fantastic fun. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and
had a great laugh! The murderer guessed that they were 'it'
before being told in the booklet of their guilt and only one other
player guessed correctly so, 2 out of 8 were correct. We even
had a real live C.I.D. officer in our party and he didn't guess the
murderer - hmmmm!
I planned the 'rounds' in between courses of
food and the whole evening ran so well. Everyone wore evening
dress but in a style of their characters, so the evening was off to
a fun start before the game began. We would all recommend
anyone considering playing one of your games to go ahead with
confidence. From my part of the organiser - I suggest you
allow yourself a little time to sit and familiarise yourself with
the running of the production to make it easier once you start the
game. Also allow plenty of time to print off and assemble the
character booklets. That said, it was all such good fun with
everyone saying so throughout the evening and they have all called
me subsequently to thank me again for deciding upon and planning our
murderous New Year's Eve party.

Hi Tim,
Just a short note to say that I held 'The
'Wake of Humpty Dumpty' on Friday and what a brilliant
night. I must say I was very worried about the evening hoping
that it would be a success and it certainly was. My guests
asked me what they should wear and I said that it was not a fancy
dress and to just make a small effort. Well, all my 12 guests
came in the best fancy dress you could see, Old King Cole being in a
full king's outfit, Polly Flinders in a torn long dress and so on,
everyone made an effort. The funniest guests were Tom Tom and
Old Mother Hubbard. Tom Tom looked like a teenage hoodie with
track suit bottoms half down his backside and a can full of bangers
and Old Mother Hubbard looked like a 50's cleaning lady.
Half way through the first round I actually thought that it would be
a very long funny evening as every guest was exaggerating their role
which I must say was brilliant!. The evening was one of the funniest
and most successful evenings we have had. There were 13 of us
'rugby' friends and a good time was had by all. Over the last
week I have had many comments on how the evening was brilliant and
that they were all a bit sceptical at first and not really looking
forward to it. However, all the comments I received were
brilliant. The flow charts were excellent and added to my confidence
of running the game. Thank you Tim for this game, I will
certainly be purchasing another in the future.

Hi Tim
Well what fun we had with "Orgy of Death"!
It was GREAT! There was 19 of us in total with an amazing
Cleopatra and an even more amazing Livia... looking a little like
Amy Winehouse! Hung-Lo sported a lovely pair of low hanging
red "balls".... and everyone really got into the spirit.
The food went down well too... we'd tried to
theme a bit although Roman feasts we found used ingredients like
dormouse, parrot and giraffe... so we had to substitute a bit.
We made real clues - so the card ones were
replaced with a bowl of dates and we even had condoms in 3 separate
dishes all labelled up etc etc. To complete the decor and set the
scene we had an array of "toys" including whips, strap-ons and
paddles... amazing what people have in their cupboards when you ask
around!
Only one person
missed a reply (possibly due to the alcohol consumed!), but the flow
chart rescued us and soon got us back on track.
Just wanted to say we loved it and everyone
had a great night! I’m sure we’ll be back again in the not too
distant future for another game as everyone really loved it and we
do tend to socialise rather a lot!
Thanks
again

Dear Tim
I recently hosted your merrymurder “Orgy of Death” – and it was a great success. The first round was a bit
wobbly until everyone got the idea (but this was because it was
their first murder mystery for most of my guests, and English is not
our main language here. Ok, and I admit the mojitos
might not have helped either!), but it was a riot after that - I had
several requests for the website!
Many thanks
for a great evening!

I am a huge fan of Murder Mysteries and I was "dying" to find a
great murder mystery that was online and that was free. This
is when I stumbled upon "The Pungent Pumpkin Poisoner". It was
awesome. I will never forget the moment where I tried to run
away after my friend said "Pal, you're nicked!" and the girl we had
playing Lloyd chased me down and caught me. Your murders perfectly
combine intrigue, humor, red herrings, good plot, and fun.
I am about to buy the "Slaughter at the Circus" game to do at my
birthday party, and my friends have come such a long way when it
comes to murder mysteries that they're fighting over who gets to be
a suspect. I love your formatting of the color coded charts
and the first person speaking; it made your murder mystery stand out
from all the companies that we tried. One of the greatest
parts was the ending; no one got it right but we were still
all very satisfied with the answer and felt dumb for not figuring it
out! Please feel free to use my comment to get other people to
buy!! -Coz

Dear Tim,
Thanks so much for the updated "Slaughter

really appreciate it. The new improvements make hosting the parties

We enjoyed our merrymurder immensely! We used it as part of
our Halloween party with a multinational group of friends. The color
coding and the flow charts made it easy to follow, even for a bunch
of drunken professors! I especially appreciated the fact that
you'd printed the color name in addition to using the color. Color
printers are hard to find here - actually printers are hard to find.
I had it printed in black and white and was then able to use markers
to add the colors. Even our friends who have a first language
other than English found it easy to follow and to participate fully!
The group gave it rave reviews and said they would love to try
another. You'll be hearing from us in the future.

Hello Tim,
Thank you so much for the free download of "The Pungent Pumpkin Poisoner". We definitely were able to

We enjoyed our murder mystery immensely! My daughter had a 17th
birthday party and we staged the murder mystery for her guests.
I thought it was constructed very well. The instructions were
very easy to follow and the color coding a MUST. Most of the kids at
the party are also in the theater and they said they wished all
scripts were broken down that way.
I personally thought that it was very well organized, well written,
the characterizations were great and it was a joy to perform. We
will definitely be looking to Merry Murder again for mysteries.

Hi there.
We are in South Africa and had our merrymurder party for my
25th birthday.
We had a few American friends out and they still cant stop raving
about the game.
What was meant to be a 10 man game turned out to be 15 and we had
loads of laughs!
The instructions were amazing and very easy to follow.... the
downloading was magic to my fingertips and the flow charts were
definitely welcome as we were all first timers.
Finding this sort of fun entertainment in the shops is impossible as
there is simply no one selling these games and definitely a demand
for it.
You are a genius and thank you so much for a fun filled game.

Hi Tim,
Just a quick note to let you know about "The Pungent Pumpkin Poisoner"
which we played last night.
We managed to gather together 9 of us (none of whom are particularly
outgoing and probably all of whom were quite apprehensive about the
idea of acting out a murder mystery)
Everyone entered into the spirit of the game and came in costume.
This provided everyone with a great laugh even before we started. In
respect of the accents, we had (politically incorrect and very
dodgy!) Yorkshire for Sir Hamish and for some reason best known to
herself, African for Gigi!
We set the scene seated around a table in a "restaurant" (front
room!) as per the script, but as it was Halloween, decorated with a
Halloween theme (the fact that pumpkins were integral to the game
made this easy).
As everyone made an effort with costumes, accents or decorations,
then the atmosphere was set before the game even started, the guests
felt a lot more relaxed and the game flowed much better.
Quite often, probably due to the excess alcohol, people were missing
their cues - this is where the colour coded flowcharts were
invaluable. A quick nod or prompt in the right direction
soon got things back on track. Anyone who is worried about the game
not flowing or missed cues, shouldn't.
We had a short 5-10 minute break after each round and the whole game
took us about 3 hours. Even after a 3 hour investigation, no-one
present guessed the identity of the guilty party. However when the
solution was finally revealed everyone was able to track back over
the clues and see how the whole scenario had unfolded. Unlike
some other murder mysteries the solution is very plausible and fits
perfectly.
Everyone commented afterwards on how much they had enjoyed the
evening and even when it was over, they were very reluctant to leave
their characters behind!
They are now insisting that they are invited to the next one ("A Merrymurder Pantocrime"), which we are planning to hold around
Christmas!
As for myself, as host, I'll feel a lot less nervous about how
things will go next time, after seeing how easy last night's game
was to play.
Everything was great and we had a fantastic time!
Thanks for a great evening,

Dear Tim,

great. The first person answers work a lot easier, and the colour
coded flowcharts make running and hosting them simpler and faster...

Dear Tim,
I don't know where to begin, but I hope I don't end up rambling.
Last night, my group of friends and family performed your "Ten
Little Vampires" merrymurder game. It was FANTASTIC!
First off, I think I've written to you in the past, when I first
discovered your corner of the web and told you how great your games
are. They are a mystery lovers dream...detailed plots, plenty
of humor, great acting stunts to help break up the party and, my
personal reason for buying your games, the fact that the solutions
are detailed, full of fair-play clues and make sense at the end.
It's not like you just randomly choose a killer, with nothing to
justify it.
To top it off, when you announced this title, being a huge Christie
fan and a fan of the book "And Then There Were None," I kept
stalking your site and when it finally became available, I purchased
it. After printing everything out and reading through the
party, I was blown away. You have created such a wonderful homage to
the book, using many plot elements, and yet completely made it your
own! Wonderful job!
As for my party, I always love a good Halloween themed mystery, but
I was getting tired of my guests playing various monsters at a
Transylvanian party type deal. This was perfect.
The death scenes were very clever and very funny. My guests
died with gusto and loved every minute of it. They all had a great
time and said this was the best party yet! And they really
liked the format.
Okay, I've chewed your ear off long enough. Again, I just
wanted to say thank you for an awesome time with friends and family.
Your games are wonderful, easy to download and your personal
touches, especially being able to contact you if there are problems,
are priceless. And the flow-charts are a great addition to
your games. Please keep up the good work and I look forward to
more Merry Murders in the future. Feel free to add my comments
to your website. A wonderful game! Great job.
Totally satisfied!

Your "The
Merrymurder Pantocrime" game went down very well, I organised it for
my husband's 50th. There were 16 of us including one child and three
teenagers. Everyone, even the six investigators, dressed up. Tapioca

some hysterical scenes when their bedroom exploits were admitted!
We all enjoyed ourselves very much. The plot was very well thought
out, and all the twists and turns kept us guessing right to the end.
Brilliant. Thanks

Hi Tim
Thanks for making it possible for us to have a great evening with
"The Wake for Humpty Dumpty" – definitely one to remember. It
took a bit longer than we thought but that was because our team of
‘amateur actors’ insisted on elaborating their parts – possibly too
much food and drink to consume as well!
We decorated the ‘court room’ with pictures of Humpty Dumpty and had
an Information Wall to summarize the starting position. I made
a CD of nursery rhymes with children’s music and adult music of a
related kind (eg Yellow Brock Road - Elton John etc.) all mixed in.
We had a Humpty Dumpty cake. 14 was the maximum number we could
sensibly manage in our house and so two guests took two witness
parts each in separate rounds. All the witnesses had props
provided to encourage them into their parts.
Finally, just to say that the Round Flowcharts were invaluable.
I could not have run the game without them. When anyone had
not picked up a cue etc having the flow charts meant I could prompt
from the sidelines. Good idea.
That’s all there is to say. Thanks for your help.

little strange cos they were reading the bits in 3rd person.
Having everything in the 1st person is definitely an improvement.
However everyone took on the character which was a right laugh.
LOL. Oh I tell you everyone loved it they really did!! And we
luckily had some wigs for the women to wear so that was funny too!!!
