10 FASCINATING VAMPIRE FACTS
By Freelance Journalist Sylvester Sneak

1. Although often thought to never age, this is untrue. Vampires do age very slowly. Over time they also become susceptible to human illnesses.

2. All vampires are adept practitioners of the art of lovemaking. With their bedroom skills vampires can take a member of the opposite sex to levels of orgasmic bliss such that they are totally unaware of their surroundings.

3. The only guaranteed method of killing a vampire is to hammer a wooden stake through the vampire’s heart. This works for all vampires.

4. Other methods that may succeed in killing a vampire are:

l Decapitation

l Stabbing them through the heart with a silver bladed weapon

l Poisoning them with garlic

l Drenching them with holy water

l Boiling them in oil

5. A strong, healthy vampire may be temporarily immobilised or discomforted by the above strategies. An elderly, weak or frail vampire may be killed by them.

6. The most powerful vampire of all is Count Dracula. He is so powerful that garlic cannot hurt him and holy water only causes him mild discomfort.

7. Count Dracula is the only vampire who can “superslurp”. The superslurp is an extreme bite where all the blood is drunk from the victim’s body in a matter of seconds.

8. The rare blood type AB, found in only 4% of the population, is considered to be a great vampire delicacy. They are also extremely partial to the blood of virgins.

9. The Vampire Institute, Paris, is an institution set up to monitor the whereabouts of suspected vampires and investigate their activities. Operating in extreme secrecy, it is believed that a new Chief Executive, Beverley X, has taken office. It is not known if Beverley is male or female. However it is believed that the new chief has implemented a new hard line policy where all known vampires are to be exterminated.

10. The Transylvanian Ritual was believed to be a ritual performed by Count Dracula when holding his lavish blood banquet feasts. Performed in front of his assembled vampire guests, the ritual was believed to arouse them to a point of ecstatic blood frenzied madness. However modern scholars believe the ritual to be a myth, invented in the late nineteenth century.
