Crossing a murder mystery with a pantomine resulted in "The Merrymurder Pantocrime" which has turned out to be one of my most popular games.  So I wanted to do something in a similar vein.  And one day the idea of crossing a murder mystery with a musical popped into my head.

Originally I had the idea of combining famous characters from different musicals.  But in the end I decided on writing a new version of "The Sound of Music".  Based on what might have happened if the Captain had followed through with his marriage to the Baroness, even though he was in love with Maria.

It was great fun to do, particularly the rewriting of the songs to fit in with my plot.  I am particularly proud of my bitchy version of "Maria", which gets sung by the Captain, the Baroness and Max.  And I also find myself singing my version of Edelweiss, which raises a few eyebrows if anybody hears me!
