Mother Superior at the Local Abbey
You are the Mother
Abbess at the local abbey where you are in charge of all the
nuns.
This is a very responsible position, requiring a great deal of tact and
diplomacy. Although you can only leave the abbey in emergencies, you do not
believe in shutting out the outside world. You regularly listen to the
wireless, have newspapers delivered and you encourage visitors to come to
the abbey to inform you of world events.
Fraulein Maria is training for the sisterhood at your abbey.
Unsure whether she was suited to abbey life, you arranged for her to be
employed as governess at the home of
Captain Van Tripp. Personal circumstances caused her to flee
back to the abbey but after you gave her a good talking to, she was
persuaded to return to the Van Tripp household.
The abbey is noted for its choir. People come from miles around to marvel at
the power and purity of the nuns’ voices.
You were shocked by
Herr Zealot’s death. Murder is the most
terrible of crimes and must be avenged. So you decided that
Sister Inquisita, the abbey’s resident detective nun, should
investigate.
