FRAULEIN MARIA, 21,
A Slap-dash Nun and Temporary Governess
You are Fraulein Maria,
aged 21, a young novice nun. Alongside other
nuns,
you are studying for sisterhood at the local Roman Catholic abbey. However
you are currently acting as governess to the children of
Captain Van Tripp. Your
Reverend Mother thought it would be a good idea for you to
get experience of life outside the abbey before taking your vows, and so she
arranged the position for you.
After a shaky beginning you introduced the Van Tripp children to music and
song. All the children (except possibly
Liesl Van Tripp), now adore you. They were heartbroken
when you unexpectedly left and returned to the abbey. You left for personal
reasons and spent some time in seclusion at the abbey. However Reverend
Mother made you see it was your duty to return to the children. You returned
to the Van Tripp mansion just in time to see Captain Van Tripp marry
Baroness Shredder.
You and
Max Dettweiler have been looking after
the children while the newlyweds have been on honeymoon. You have been
working on the children’s vocal skills and they have now formed a singing
group, calling themselves “The Van Tripp Family Singers”.
