MADAME TUSSAUD
Princess Henriette's tutor and gifted wax modeller

I am Madame Tussaud, aged 58.  I am Princess Henriette’s tutor.  I have devoted my life to her education, having been at her bedside when she was born.  I am determined that she will be the best ruler the French people have ever seen.  My inspiration has been Queen Elizabeth of England.  In 1558 the Tudor queen inherited a ravaged country and restored it to greatness.  Princess Henriette will do the same.

I have set her a punishing education schedule.  Fortunately she is an apt and attentive pupil, and shares my ambitions.  Well, she did until recently.  Louis XV's new wife, Marie Antoinette, has been a bad influence on Princess Henriette, encouraging her in frivolous and flippant pastimes.  I do not wish to sound harsh, but I am a forthright old woman who always speaks her mind.  I am glad the queen has gone missing!

I also have an unusual talent. I am a gifted wax modeller. Recently the king commissioned me to make life-size models of the royal family.  Himself, Marie Antoinette and Princess Henriette. Unfortunately the revolutionists set fire to them!
