18th Century France. Scared by outbreaks of violence, LOUIS XV has escaped Paris by accepting CYRANO DE BERGERAC'S offer of hospitality at Chateau Meutre on the west coast of France. Accompanying him are his new wife, MARIE ANTOINETTE and his daughter, PRINCESS HENRIETTE. But one night the Chateau is attacked by disillusioned peasants. And although repelled, two horrific discoveries are later made. Marie Antoinette is found to be missing. And lying in the chateau courtyard, by the new execution device “la guillotine”, is a body. The headless corpse of chief lady in waiting, MADAME DE SPICABLE. And it turns out that at least one of the guests has blood on their hands…
