HOW IT WORKS
This game works slightly differently to a
traditional merrymurder in that your guests will be providing the
voices of more than one character during the game.
The game begins with a reconstruction of
what happened when the green team's blowpipe was sold at the "Hunt
for a Bargain" charity auction. Unsurprisingly one character
does not survive to hear the gavel falling! It is then that
you, as host of the party, begin the investigation. Playing
the part of Inspector Lalique, you will be conducting Round 1 which
involves a group questioning of the characters who attended the
auction.
Courtesy of "Evidence Cards", your guests
will be providing the responses from the auction attendees.
This will require them to use their vocal skills to portray a
diverse range of accents. For instance Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Chinese,
American, Australian and South African. And also Public Schoolboy, Market Trader,
Aristocratic Lady, Soho Stripper, Snooty Professor, East End Copper,
Television "lovey", Celebrity Clairvoyant etc. Giving each
character a defined way of speaking and a particular catchphrase gives them a unique and
memorable identity.
At the end of Round 1 the field of would-be murderers
will be dramatically reduced to six
specific suspects. Anyone who has voiced one of these six
suspects is asked to sit centre stage. They will now play that
role permanently until the end of the game. Any other
characters that they voiced during Round 1 are automatically
reallocated to the remaining guests. Rounds 2 and Rounds 3
then follow, with the innocent characters discovering that, between
them, they know quite a lot of damaging information about this
suspicious sextet!
Throughout the game seven Clue Objects
and five Clue Documents will turn up to help throw light on the enquiry.
And because Mystic Mags, the famous medium is present, we have not heard the last from our victim. And finally be
vigilant. Because before the game is played out, another
character will receive a dose of snake poison...
