TABLE TOP MERRYMURDERS

Please Note - The following pages contain details of how a typical table top merrymurder works.  However each game is different, and will therefore contain different elements and have its own quirks.

READING THE INVITATION

The invitation contains background details about the crime.  Since tabletop merrymurders can be done impromptu, then the Chief Investigator can simply read the invitation aloud before the game begins.

However if you wish, you may send the invitation out in advance, so that players know what the game is all about.

ALLOCATING PLAYERS TO TEAMS

Each table top merrymurder requires players to be allocated into a number of teams (usually between four and six).  Each team will be responsible for voicing the parts of certain characters.  Each team will usually contain either one or two people.

Once everyone has been allocated to a team, they need to sit in these teams around a large table around.  The game components for each team can then be placed in front of them.  The clue items go into the centre of the table.

Failing a table, a large floor space will suffice.

Once everyone has been allocated into teams and seated, the Chief Investigator can make their Opening Speech.
