SUSPECT
CHARACTER
BOOKLETS
The Suspect
Character Booklets contain details of the information a suspect should
reveal during a particular round. This may be in the form of a response they
should make to a particular question that someone will ask them. They
may also have information with which to challenge another suspect.

The booklets may also specify actions to perform at certain stages of the
game. This might be apprehending a character who, in their booklet, has been
told to make a run for it at a certain moment. Or going down on you knees
and begging forgiveness when your duplicity in a
love affair comes to light.
Some games
also contain scripts, songs and poems for members of the group to perform.
All items are written in the first person, allowing them to be read
direct from the booklet. This makes things easier after a
couple of glasses of wine!
All character booklets
contain a "Protestation of Innocence" statement for the final stage of the game. The suspect
will use this statement to try and persuade the Investigation Panel of their
innocence. And it is also in the character booklet that at some point the murderer(s) will learn of their guilt!
